History of ARIVA.DE AG
A pioneer since 1998
As a member of the Stock Market Society at the University of Kiel, the computer science student Jochen Pape noticed how difficult it was to find financial data on the Internet. That was how the idea came about to create a dedicated portal for stock market information. Just a few months later, ARIVA.DE went online in November 1998 – the foundation stone of the company was laid. Today, with over 45 million page impressions, ARIVA is one of the largest stock market portals in Germany.
Stock company in 2000
As a result of the company’s rapid growth, ARIVA.DE GbR became a stock company in September 2000. The Kiel-based company developed further, tapping into new fields of business.
Analysis tools, Web services
On top of the portal and forum came analysis tools and Web services for third parties, as well as a comprehensive database for the new securities class of certificates. To this day, ARIVA has been supplying extensive master data, price data, indices, fundamental data and key figures in the market data services business field. In the field of derivatives master data, ARIVA is the market leader.
Regulatory services
The newest, and also the fastest growing, business field is that of regulatory services, comprising a wide range of services for compliance with complex supervisory regulations, such as product information sheets, PRIIP and MiFID.
Company expansion
The headcount at ARIVA has also grown: with the new construction of the company’s headquarters in the Science Park at Kiel in 2012, the company created a modern and attractive working environment for its employees. In the meantime, ARIVA now employs a total of around 110 staff at its headquarters in Kiel and at the office in Frankfurt am Main which opened in 2016. The next phase of growth was initiated together with a strong partner: from 2016 to 2019, EQS Group AG, headquartered in Munich, became a majority shareholder in ARIVA.DE AG.
Smartbroker Holding AG
Since June 2019, the Berlin-based Smartbroker Holding AG has been the new proprietor of ARIVA.DE.
